This year's tour will feature five private residences:


Oscar Eberhard House, 1464 Franklin Street

a 1912 Period Revival Craftsman first owned by a member of the family that once operated the Eberhard Tannery factory in Santa Clara;


Luis G "George" Fatjo House, 1044 Homestead Road

a Prairie School style home owned by a member of a prominent Spanish family in old Santa Clara involved in the banking field;


Myers House, 759 Madison Street

a Classic Box structure with Colonial Revival features;


Hattie Mills House, 742 Jefferson Street

a beautiful 1890s era Queen Anne Victorian with Colonial Revival detailing.



Harris Lass House Museum, 1889 Market Street

The public building on this year's tour will be the Harris-Lass House, an 1865 Italianate-style Victorian first owned by a Santa Clara capitalist named Henry Harris, passed on to his son Alfred, a Town Treasurer and banker in Santa Clara and then bought by sea captain Christian Lass in 1906. Each room in the house will be decorated to the theme, "Twas the Night Before Christmas...". The Harris-Lass House, celebrating its 20th anniversary as a public museum, will also be the location for restrooms,refreshments and an opportunity drawing which will benefit the Santa Clara Arts & Historical Consortium.

About 2011 Home Tour

Tickets for the annual Santa Clara Historic Home Tour will go on sale beginning in October. The always-delightful Historic Home Tour began 33 years ago. This year's tour will be held December 2nd & 3rd. One of the private homes on this year's tour is the Oscar Eberhard House, a 1912 Period Revival Craftsman. Other architectural styles will also be represented. The public building on the tour will be the Italianate-style Harris-Lass House which is celebrating its 20th anniversary as a public museum. The Museum's interior rooms will be festively decorated with the theme "Twas the Night Before Christmas".
The Board of the Harris-Lass House Museum co-sponsors the tour with the Old Quad Residents' Association. Proceeds benefit historic preservation projects and other non-profit groups in Santa Clara. Last year's tour benefited the Harris-Lass House Museum, the Santa Clara City Library Heritage Pavilion, J.W. House at Kaiser Santa Clara, Turning Wheels for Kids, a Habitat for Humanity project in Santa Clara, the Santa Clara Music Booster Association, Santa Clara Senior Case Management, Santa Clara Youth Services Summer Reading Club, and the Santa Clara Animal Shelter. The non-profit Santa Clara Arts & Historical Consortium also holds an opportunity drawing at one of the houses during the tour as a fundraiser for their organization.
Tickets are $20 if ordered by mail or on the tour's website by October 31st. Mail order forms will be available during October at the Central Park and Mission libraries. Tickets also may be ordered by sending a legal-size self addressed stamped envelope to: Historic Home Tour 2011, c/o Harris-Lass House Museum, P.O. Box 3311, Santa Clara, CA 95055-3311.
Beginning November 1st, ticket prices will be: $25 general admission, $20 Seniors (60+) or Children (5-18). No children under the age of 5 will be admitted. Beginning November 1st, tickets may also be purchased at City Lights Espresso (1171 Homestead Road in Santa Clara across from the Post Office). If still available the days of the tour, all tickets will be $30 at the door of the Harris-Lass House., 1889 Market Street, Santa Clara..
